J. MORRIS WADE DUNN Mr. J. Morris Wade, of 916 West Pope Street, died Friday morning in his home. Mr.

Wade was a retired Dunn businessman, and former owner and operator of the Morris Wade Sales Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, 101st Airborne Division, known as the General William C. Lee Airborne Division. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Dunn and was involved in other community affairs including Dunn Kiwanis Club.

IN MEMORIAM JOHN MICHAEL LA VALLEE MERRILL D. DANIELS WASHINGTON, N.C. Mr. Merrill David Daniels, 80, a resident of 925 Isabella North Shores, died at his home Thursday afternoon. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m.

Sunday at the chapel of Paul Funeral Home, Washington, N.C., conducted by Dr. William M. Massey. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery. The following will serve as pallbearers: Joe Tunstall George Thigpen, Bryan Ross, Riley Roberson, Zoph Potts and Eugene Hudson.

Mr. Daniels was in Washington, N.C. on November 11, 1912. He was the son of the late William David and Gertrude Warner Daniels. Mr.

Daniels was married to the former Marry Ross Squires on June 29, 1935. She preceded him in death on March 14, 1956. He later married the former Stella Dudley on May 28, 1978, who survives. Mr. Daniels joined WRRF Radio, February 1, 1944, as an announcer.

He served as news director, program director, sales manager, station manager and public service director during his tenure. He developed and produced many entertaining and educational programs during his 48 years of service. The most popular. were "The Pal Party," "The Silver Dollar Man," "The Man on the Street." He was most recently known for hosting the very popular show "Let's Talk," a community affairs show and the very informative call-in show, "'Express Yourself." Literally thousands of important community leaders and workers were interviewed by Mr. Daniels on his popular morning talk shows.

He felt it important for the community to first hand from the movers and shakers in the county. Mr. Daniels retired on his birthday, November 11, 1992. Before entering the radio and television profession, Mr. Daniels was a sign painter for the late W.R.

Roberson Sr. Mr. Daniels was a member of First Baptist Church, Washington, N.C. He was Sunday school superintendent there for 13 years. Mr.

Daniels also served as a deacon there for many years. Later, he was sent by First Baptist Church as director of missions to form what is now Second Baptist Church of Washington, N.C. He was a charter member of Second Baptist Church, where he was very instrumental in its building program. He was most recently known for serving as the director of the Eastern Village Arm Ministry, a mission supported by Second Baptist Church. He preached there for 25 years.

Mr. Daniel was a charter member of the Washington Kiwanis Club and also a former member of the Washington. Jaycees. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Daniels Garris of Grifton; one stepson, William Charlie Manning Sr.

of Washington, N.C.; two grandchildren, Mrs. Elizabeth Barton Gamiel and Mark Daniels Barton; two greatgrandchildren, Mrs. Elizabeth Ross Gamiel and Emily Dare Gamiel; six step-grandchildren, Bill Manning Keith Manning, Michelle Elks, Renee Jones, Chris Manning and Jay Manning; one brother, William A. Daniels of Washington, N.C.; four step-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7-9 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington, N.C., and other times at his home, 925 Isabella North Shores, Washington, N.C.

Mr. Daniels was a true pioneer in radio in eastern North Carolina. He will be missed, but his legacy will live on. He spent his life serving his Lord and his fellow man. His favorite closing at the end of each radio program was "so long for now." Memorials may be given to The American Cancer Society, East 12th Street, Washington, N.C.

Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Leo Fair. Burial, Oakdale Cemetery. The following will serve as pallbearers: Billy Woolard, George Gardner, Bill Page, Bill Paciga, Craig Darkow and Milan Brickhouse.

Mrs. Wiggs was born in Granville County, April 13, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Floy Tingen Mosley. Mrs.

Wiggs was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. She was married to Bailey Judson "B.J." Wiggs May 25, 1947, who survives. Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Dr. R. Lynn Wiggs of Raleigh and James S.

Wiggs of Portland, two brothers, Julian Mosley of Creedmoor and Bob Mosley of Kalamazoo, one sister, Mrs. Marion M. Faulkner of Butner and two grandchildren. The family will receive friends 7- 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Paul Funeral Home, and other times at her home, 221 Austin Point Drive, Washington, N.C.
